Nurse Practitioner – Neonatology

Below are the job Details:-

Schedule:

• 6am-6pm in the facility, 6pm-6am on-call, 24 hours a day.

Dates:
• August 5 (orientation), August 6-19 and ongoing 10-14 days a month

Qualifications/Certifications/Training/Skills:
• Board certified in Neonatology preferred/Board Eligible, NRP certified, Intubation, Chest tube placement, Placement of central lines, Paracentesis, Spinal taps, exchange transfusion, thermal cooling, ventilator management including oscillators and iNO.

Types of cases generally treated by physicians:
• Level lll NICU without surgical sub-specialties, Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Pulmonary Hypertension, Pneumothorax, Sepsis, Seizures, Stabilize surgical cases for transport out, VLBW, NAS

Description of the NICU environment:
• NICU has existed here since the early 70s; RN staff are very knowledgeable and have strong clinical skills and work great together as a team. RT is also an integral team member supporting conventional ventilators, oscillators, iNO, CPAP, hiflo cannulas, and new hospital facility as of 2019.

Available Equipment:
• Diagnostics: Full equipment, MRI, CT, EEG
• EHR: Cerner

Ancillary services or physician specialists available to support Neonatologist:

• General pediatrics, Pediatric Neurology, Infectious disease, contracts for consultation with University of Michigan Cardiology and Ophthalmology. Also able to reach out to Neonatologists at Mott Children’s Hospital, DeVos Children’s hospital or Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Generally, Mott comes up to us to pick up infants requiring surgical intervention.
